Meet Dr. Katrina Armstrong, Dean of Columbia’s Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons

​​Dr. Katrina Armstrong continues her groundbreaking career in medicine as the chief executive officer of Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) and dean of the Faculties of Health Sciences and the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. There, she oversees a wide swath of medical professionals at the university, from students to faculty to practicing doctors. In March, she became the first woman to lead Columbia’s medical school and medical center. In an interview with Columbia News, Armstrong discussed a wide range of topics, including the challenges facing the world of medicine today.
