NEW KETO RECIPES CHANNEL: /channel/UCnAGH-jp4YXl30rir1BPrxA Ever wonder what vitamin D does to your immune system? Watch this video to find out. DATA: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6759203 Timestamps: 0:00 What vitamin D does to your immune system 0:54 Causes of vitamin D deficiency 1:36 The function of vitamin D for immune health 4:06 How vitamin D is used to fight off illness and disease 4:58 Sources of vitamin D In this video, I’m going to talk to you about what vitamin D does to your immune system. I may have covered this in the past, but I think this is an important topic you should know more about. Vitamin D is intimately connected to every single immune reaction. In fact, white blood cells have the ability to activate vitamin D. One effect that some viruses have on the immune system is to turn off vitamin D receptors. They know that vitamin D is important, so they prevent it from becoming useful so they can thrive. Vitamin D deficiencies occur when there’s not enough sun—like wintertime. This is one reason why we get a spike in the flu and other viruses in the winter. The Spanish flu pandemic of 1819 peaked in January. Between November and March, we have far more instances of autoimmune diseases, like lupus, MS, type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease. Vitamin D has natural anti-inflammatory properties. Inflammation is a huge contributor to things like autoimmune diseases. Vitamin D is also an immune modulator. It helps regulate your immune system, so it’s not working too much (like attacking healthy body tissue) and not too little (like not being able to fight off viruses). Vitamin D also helps create antimicrobial compounds, such as cathelicidins and defensin. It is virtually impossible to get enough vitamin D from food alone. You need to get vitamin D from the sun. @tripperdan4 years ago Great video, one small tidbit I have read in studies is that it has shown that hospitals trying to use bolus doses of Vitamin D for an issue has negligible or no benefit in helping the patient. My take away is that you can't use it as a bandaid, you have to be taking it all the time (Sun and supplements) so keep the levels up in the body for it to use. ... 2

Spanish flu, TB Diphtheria and others.
People in general where under nourished
and lived in poverty. The soldiers on the front ate what they could find and drink polluted water. Anti biotics became the panacea for everything, although vital.
We become sick through neglect of the essential ingredient of common sense.
    Sorry to be so blunt.

@RickRoku4 years ago Hi Dr Berg. Thanks for the video. Listen, I was put on vitamin D3 with calcium after weight loss surgery. However, I have hypertension and I'm taking a calcium channel blocker. The doctor said I needed the calcium because of the surgery. Can I just take vitamin D3 alone without the calcium? At least that's what I thought.
I've been on it for quite a while now and I'm concerned about building up excess calcium in my arteries. Middle aged man.
I still remember you saying in one of your earlier videos that calcium and was basically like ground up limestone, etc. Grin.
