Warren Buffet shared reading as one of his keys to success. In fact, Buffet was very pointed to state that reading 500 pages per every week could make a difference in a person's success. Warren Buffet represents the embodiment of an iconic investor. He exudes the possibility of economic growth and wealth generation that can stem from starting early and remaining disciplined to rise to the level of controlling billions of dollars in both personal and professional assets. Buffet is an example of a highly disciplined value investor, but he is also quite disciplined in other matters in his life. He clocks an average of 8 hours of sleep per night. He’s an early riser, waking up somewhere between 6:30 AM and 6:45 AM. Even in his nineties, Buffet has maintained a daily routine that most aspiring CEOs and entrepreneurs need to consider for themselves. Imagine putting this type of dedication into reading industry magazines and trade journals in your given career field as well as with your hobbies. Think about how much more success you could have if you determined to read 100 to 150 pages of how-to information related to skills development as an entrepreneur or business leader on a weekly basis. Your success could increase exponentially simply by taking some time to read and expand your knowledge base. While looking at Buffet’s daily routine might not help many people lose weight, it surely could help many people gain some ground on tackling the task of reading those 500 pages per week. Buffet isn’t just reading whatever. He’s reading USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and more periodicals. According to www.finty.com, “most of the materials he reads relate to company financials, market materials, financial journals, and investor reports.” Also, the article stated that “Buffett prefers newspapers over watching the news on TV.” In order to read those 500 pages per week like Buffet, you will need to:  Dedicate enough time during your day to fit in approximately 100 pages per day  Identify quality reading material that will increase your knowledge and capacity with your career field and/ or industry  Set yourself up for success day by day by going through a daily routine that provides you with a mindset ready to read and learn during a portion of your day  Look at how you can use your new knowledge and apply it in different ways within your work and life Why not try to read 300 pages per week on innovation and ingenuity and spend the remainder split between inspiration and your industry? Think of books like Start with Why and Think and Grow Rich as innovation and ingenuity, while books like Up from Slavery and Walden serve as inspirational. Imagine if you limited your exposure to only ideas related to your business. You would remain limited in your ability to connect the dots and make connections to other contributing factors to your own success in business and life. Simply reading 500 pages per week might not be your golden ticket to success. It might provide you with greater exposure to ideas and concepts as well as keep you informed on the latest business trends. It will most certainly help you to increase your base of knowledge. #warrenbuffet #success #tips
