@swankiman7 years agoWow. Destiny got totally owned. Jontron was low-hanging fruit for him and maybe he thought winning his own arguments was easy after that. But seriously, how could you think that arguing for the oppression of a minority for the benefit of the majority was consistent with defending minorities? He's a smart person, clearly, but it takes a really smart person to be able to construct a defense for something so blatantly stupid. He should invest in a book on moral philosophy. It's moral philosophy that ended slavery and began the industrial age that gave people iPhones (which he clearly considers to be of an importance level that is simultaneously galling and telling at the same time). He's like a citizen of the Capital in Hunger Games saying that those District 12 slaves are only a small minority who are oppressed for what is clearly beneficial to everyone he knows and that means that it's inherently a good thing. I'm sure slavery made things nice for people who liked having slaves wash the clothes and plow the fields rather than themselves. And Destiny would probably call Trump a fascist. The irony is lost on people who live in these sick and demented and morally bankrupt social bubbles. My heart really goes out to them with pity for what they are telling the world about their values with 'principles' like this and the, IMO, inevitable sadness that is coming for them as they get older as a result of conducting themselves in relationships for a few decades with beliefs grounded in pragmatic coercion over moral philosophy.
